In college, I want to major in psychology/biology and hope to minor in music in order to continue creating music for years to come.
I would like to go out of state, with my top three schools currently being University of Southern California, Stanford University and Pomona College.
I also hope to integrate myself on campus through various clubs such as the tennis club, community organizations, and marching band.
In college, I hope to still participate in some of my previous clubs such as Helping Those In Need and visit the Trevor G. Browne Marching Band whenever the opportunity arises.
I also have the honor of being a QuestBridge Finalist after having participated in their College Prep Scholar summer program. Through their program, I was able to rank (create a list of) up to 12 colleges that will receive my application and consider me for a full-ride scholarship. I ranked University of Southern California, Stanford University, Pomona College, and Northwestern University in that respective order.
Although I am, admittedly, a little scared for what the future holds, I am excited to explore what awaits me in college.
Although I'm currently considering other options, I want to become a specialized pediatrician. I have always wanted to become a doctor of some kind, especially because the prospect of helping others has always intrigued me and I know I would deeply enjoy it. However, I am currently considering pursuing some of my other passions, such as majoring in English with a Pre-Med track or becoming a writer, professor or even a publisher. I'm also interested in becoming a veterinarian and/or psychologist.
Ever since I was little, I loved pretending to be a doctor, sometimes even taking a pen to my father's foot because he was in dire need of an "emergency surgery." I believe this interest stemmed from both my grandmother, who was a chiropractor in Mexico who truly had healing hands, and from my frequent visits to hospitals when I was younger. As I grew older, I realized how comforting it was to have a doctor who truly cared for their patients and felt inspired to become that myself.
I am currently leaning towards specializing in hematology/oncology or development/behavior.
I hope to one day open my own clinics in low-income areas in hopes of lightening the burden they carry by providing them a more affordable approach to healthcare.
I want to give my parents the life they deserve after giving so much to my brother and I. I hope to buy them a ranch somewhere in the city so they can relax and give them the opportunity to travel to their heart's content.
I want to continue playing tennis with friends in my spare time as it has become one of my favorite stress relievers.
I also hope to join a local band after college and continue playing flute.
My dream workplace is Phoenix Children's Hospital or somewhere equivalent to it.
As time passes and the long-awaited future becomes a present, you realize just how much you're leaving behind.
