I am not a Counselor who happens to be a Christian

I am a Christian Counselor

"Therefore, encourage one another and build each other up." -Thes 5:11

I Fail. I Cuss. I Sin. I am NOT Holier Than Thou. I am Real. But I CAN Help.

Direct, Open and Honest- But Never Judging

I'll be direct and honest here- I will not give you any self-righteous, holier than thou, psychobabble. I am just a normal Texas Joe.

From a broken home. Dad left. Mom died when I was 16. Divorced. Been involved in things I should not have been. Looking for an example of how to be perfect for God... Look elsewhere.

However, I have wanted to minister to hurting people since I was 15. I will always take my time to listen and learn before speaking up, but I will shoot straight and give my opinion and useful advice if needed. I think I can help anyone feel comfortable with me - from a teen-ager to a 95 year old, from tough street guys, to middle class working women, to the classy well off crowd, any race or culture. I love people. I genuinely care for my clients and see it as a real relationship, not merely a professional talking down to you.

Video Introduction

Since you will be doing online therapy with me, having a little video will show you what it will feel like talking with me. I think you can see that I’m just a normal guy, whatever normal is. We are all a little crazy though and that’s okay!

Invest in Your Mental Health, Your Relationships with Others & With God.

Logical question:

We spend thousands on a nice home, cars, hobbies, coffee. Sometimes we have to spend tons of money on insurance, doctors, and sometimes lawyers (and more coffee).

Don't you think that your peace of mind, your happiness, your marriage, your relationship with others, and certainly your relationship with God Himself, is worth a little bit of money?

If you invest in our own growth and development of your faith, you will be in a position to love others better, serve God more fully, and as a side result, you will find peace.

Storms of Life Can Hit Hard

Paul said he learned how to be content in all things (Phil 4:12).

Paul encouraged us to seek the Peace that passes all understanding. ( Col 3:12).

A major focus of my ministry has been to help people find peace in the midst of life's storms. Your situation may indeed be overwhelming, whether it was caused by being a victim to others, or just life in general, or through your own mess ups and sin. Regardless, you can learn to cope with a bad situation.

I have counseled people in some of the most deplorable situations and losses in their lives, and have seen how anyone can learn to accept their situation and make the most out of it.

I will not lie to you. Life can be rough, severely rough. It can suck, let's be honest. There is no magical answer sometimes. However, if a situation cannot be changed, we just have to accept it. That sounds simple, but is not. It is something I have to work on with clients often.
