Rohan Arcot:
I am the team captain of 6357. As a sophomore, this is my second year of being a member of this club and my second year of robotics as well. I main goal is to get everyone as involved as possible, especially the new members. My strengths lie in programming and CAD design although I am active in the hardware section as well. With no proper mentors, I do my best to help the team members learn certain aspects of robotics and STEM that will help them in the future. My favorite part of FTC are the competitions as it brings the team together as a whole and shows the months of hard work put into action on the field. I also like the meetings where we all bond as a team to work on the robot and have fun while doing it. It doesn’t matter if we make it far into the competition, what matters is that we have fun and we all learn something along the way. During my free time, I love to play basketball and program.
Raul Michael:
I am a sophomore at Folsom High School and this is my second on the team as well as a the club as a whole. I work on all aspects of the robot, ranging from hardware to software. However, my main specialty is the wonderful notebook. I am the Overseer of the notebook, as I have the most experience with it. Last year, I helped a lot with the documentation of our team’s efforts to build a successful robot. This year, my goal is to take my knowledge and distribute it to the freshmen and the newer members. I like club and the team because it is a great way to introduce people to the STEM field as well as the experiences of the competitions. In my free time, I play football for my school, I play video games, and I like spending time with my family by playing games and watching movies. I also like to play around with the Arduino Uno and build cool, and random stuff.
Guadalupe Bernal:
I’m a senior and I have been on this FTC team since my freshman year. I work as our head programmer, but also have experience with the building and designing of the robot. Over the past three years, I have loved being a part of such a cooperative experience and have gained many great friendships from being on the team in addition to learning about engineering and design. In my free time, I enjoy playing video games and building my own robots.
Kunaal Aenugula:
As a sophomore who has taken Robotics both years up until now, I have always aspired to spread the ideas of STEM and its quintessential applications to the real world. I believe that the most important role of this club is to teach and impart important skills to other peers, and spark their willingness to learn more about this ever-changing world. Something that I want to learn by the end of this year is Android Studio Programming, an applying Java to this application. My favorite part about an FTC Robotics competition is the positiveness of our team, even when we have not done so stellar in our competitions. Favorite hobbies of mine, include reading, learning programming, and playing video games.
Aritra Bera:
Last Year, As a timid freshman, joining this club helped me come out of my shell and interact with a large group of people, the majority of whom I would have never met without this club. Working and interacting with my fellow schoolmates in order to make the best robot possible helped me transform myself into someone who now enjoys interacting with others. Robotics acts as a barricade against all the daily stress and pressure from school. As a sophomore, I am delighted to be able to perform the role of secretary for such a beautiful club. My favorite part of this team is the common desire to always improve and reach new heights. The beauty of robotics is that there are no wrong answers since any design can be modified to meet a specific task. Robotics is a subject in which anyone can succeed since the only trait required is limitless creativity. In an era in which technology controls both our personal and social lives a fundamental understanding of robotics is quintessential in order to maintain a forward- thinking mindset. Along with Robotics, I enjoy playing basketball and volunteering.
Vishwak Pabba:
Although I’ve had lots experience in FLL Robotics, this is my first year in Folsom High School Robotics. Previously, I am also in a club that specializes in satellite launch simulations. In the future, my goal is to become an Avionics Engineer. My main role on the team lies in the hardware section in which I mainly help to build the physical parts of the robots. My favorite part of robotics to build the robot with my friends. I joined robotics because I would like to learn more about programming in Java and Android Studio. My hobbies include watching anime all day, using tools to build new things, and help my mom around the house by fixing things around the house. An interesting fact about myself is that I listen to Shakira and anime music, for example “Peace Sign” from Boku no Hero Academia or “Again” from Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, “Snow Fairy” from Fairy Tail, etc.
Emily Munoz:
I am a sophomore at Folsom High School and have been a member of robotics club for over a year now. The club has helped me improve my teamwork skills as well as broaden my knowledge on the robot parts. My role in team 6357 is to brainstorm ideas and help build some of the robot. Partaking in FTC competitions is a very rewarding experience as the hard work put into building/programming the robot is exhibited on the playing field. Every member on the team is cooperative and hardworking, making the process very enjoyable. In my free time, I like to play basketball and run.
Nicole Cheng:
I am a sophomore at Folsom High School, and this is my second year participating in the First Tech Challenge. I am a builder on the team, as well as the one who provides unconditional love and moral support. Throughout my experience in Robotics Club, I have learned a lot about designing and building a robot and numerous skills that are important for engineers, like communication, teamwork and problem solving. However, I believe I have much more to learn, such as coding since I know very little about it. I enjoy socializing in my spare time and occasionally solving puzzles, drawing, and doing homework.
Mindy Kim:
I am a freshman at Folsom High School and this is my first year in taking part in any competition hosted by the FIRST program. I am interested in the programming and contributed to the software aspect of the robot by programming our robot’s responses to the controller. In addition to helping in software, I have given time into designing and building the robot as well. I realize that in any club such as Robotics Club, it is imperative to actively step up and take charge in order to finish anything successfully, which I hope I can be that person to step and take charge. In my free time, I take part in long distance for our school’s track and field team, play the flute, and do korean drama marathons. In the future, I dream to enter into the computer science field and help create technology that can better the future.
Daniel Chang:
I am a freshman at this school, which obviously makes this my first year of this club. I joined this club because I thought it would be a great experience and a great way to get meet new people. My favorite part of robotics is being able to talk to friends and share ideas on how to make the robot better. In robotics I want to learn other ways to solve problems and be able to choose which of my options is the best to carry out, and I hope that this year will be a great year full of entertainment, but also of learning.
