Carson Davis Clumpner is a Federation politician, military leader, and Founding Father who is best known for his role as the 6th President of the United Federation. He served as the only Senator for Roman, and the Speaker Pro-Tempore of the State Council for the majority of the body's existence. He was a devoted member of the Federation Government, and was noted for being an especially personable member of government. His devotion to the Federation, and repulsion of Ryan Madden's bombardment of the Circles Revolution led to him becoming one of the members of the Federation Government-in-exile in Prairie War III.
Clumpner was the last in a string of 5 Federation Founding Fathers to serve as President, though a number would eventually serve later in history.
His election to the Presidency followed the 2nd term of John Banks-George, and after not being endorsed by John B.G. for the Presidency, as his Vice-President Cal Petri was also running and the president did not want to be caught in the middle, his campaign launched a blitz of ads about his qualifications for the presidency, from his service on the High Command, Military, and Senator positions. Despite the election being at the time the closest election in the Fed's history, he eventually won the election, largely from the votes of Joshua Keller's home state of Delta.
As President, he entered the United Federation into SPATO and helped to make the Federation's navy much stronger. He appointed John B.G. as his V.P. and his former opponent Calvin Petri as his Navy Secretary. He did much to improve the integration of the Armed Forces, and worked to improve relations with North Garfea, New Washburn, the reformed Coalition, and the now-independent Circles.
He was also possibly the Federation's largest proponent of the Federation Empire, the vast territorial holdings of the UFP outside of the main area of the SPN. He personally led the conquest of the Nakomis Islands, which later became a state.
Towards the end of his Presidency, Circles and the stateless Flynn Nation declared war on the Federation to secure a stronger hand for war in the coming school year. He encouraged the election to continue, which was eventually won by Conner Zink. Many Applaud his handling of internal and international relations, and his military programs. He is a very well-liked President, who often took opinions from those outside his circles or his cabinet and worked with members of all groups in the State Council.
After being elected with 66% percent of the vote, President Clumpner set about expanding the Federation's Military, specifically the Navy, and was a major proponent of the Federation Empire, the term for what became massive territorial and colonial holdings. He integrated the state of Nakomis, after personally leading the conquest of the surrounding area.
He worked to increase ties that had been set up between the Sun Prairie Nations at the time, and founded SPATO, one of the longest lasting military and civil defense organizations in the SPN. He also ordered the creation of the Prairie-class Destroyer, replacing temporarily the Schlafer-class.
Towards the middle of his presidency the State of Circles seceded from the Federation, and at the end of his Presidency the September War began. He continued the election on schedule and was replaced by Connor Zink.
