Module 3: Visitor Engagement & Interpretation Skills

Welcome to Module 3! This module is all about helping you connect with visitors and share the stories of the FDR Memorial in a way that’s engaging, clear, and memorable. You’ll learn how to guide people through the Memorial, highlight key history, and answer questions confidently.

We’ll focus on three key areas:

1. Creating a Welcoming Environment – Tips and strategies for making every visitor feel comfortable, included, and excited to explore.

2. Interpreting Without Lecturing – How to share history naturally, make it interesting, and involve your audience without just reading facts.

3. Virtual Walkthrough – Put your knowledge to test by practicing giving tours virtually.
