🚨 NOW HIRING NEW OFFICERS 🚨!!!
School Resource Officers (SROs) embody the Fairfax County Police Department's dedication to community policing, fostering an innovative partnership with Fairfax County Public Schools. These officers go beyond traditional law enforcement duties, mentoring youth both during and after school hours. They engage in a variety of roles, such as coaching sports teams, working with student organizations, and participating in after-school and evening events, building strong, supportive relationships with students. SROs also offer counseling, providing a listening ear and guidance for students facing challenges at home, in the community, or within the school itself. They connect students with valuable county resources and advocate for positive outcomes, maintaining fairness and impartiality. Through a blend of mentoring, counseling, and, when necessary, investigative work, SROs aim to create and maintain a safe educational environment for all members of the school community, demonstrating a commitment to the well-being and security of the students they serve.
