Mattapoisett

The Mattapoisett station was on Railroad Avenue in Mattapoisett Mass, but little remain of the beautiful station today, only a whistle post and a stand for a signal post still remain. From Mattapoisett in the 1920s passengers could take the train all the way to Boston for $2.30, which in today's money would be around $27.19. There was also the 'Dude' train which was a premium train which passengers had to pay an expensive annual fee to ride. There where a few doors and many windows on the first floor, including two larger doors on the back of the station for freight. There was an overhang that separated the first floor and the second floor, and the second floor had a few windows. There was a bit of trim that hung down from the roof, and on the top of the roof there where two chimneys, plus a smaller chimney.
