General Rules and Expectations

As a member of our staff team, it is integral to show the utmost professionalism when conducting not only sits but everyday interactions. This is a sort of “Golden Rule” for staff as poor representation of us can lead to people not taking our community and its management seriously. 

The MOTD is the LAW of the server, always check the MOTD first if you need a rule clarified, if you find no answer from there, then ask your fellow staff member.

When performing any duties on the admin job that require no clipping make sure to ALWAYS be cloaked. It breaks people's RP to see someone clipping around completely visible. 

Any orders or direction given out by JMT+ must be followed.

Remember to always use the staff room that you spawn in for staff sits. 

As a member of our staff team, activity is also a necessity, a general guideline to being considered active within our community is about 5-10 hours per week, anything more is something to be considered almost like overtime, showing your continued dedication to our team. 

We understand that perfection is impossible and that we are humans and all make mistakes but it is best to minimize in-character punishments as a staff member as much as possible as this once again leads to poor representation of our staff team, except to the most important people on the server, our community. 

DO NOT abuse the powers you are given, you are provided these powers for the purposes of moderation and making sure people are having fun on the server. Malicious abuse of your powers can lead to formal sanctions within the staff team and in-game. 

The Shock Baton is never to be used for messing around. It's there in case there are no Security personnel online (Shock or Base Defense Officer) then you can use it to arrest those that are intentionally breaking Republic Law causing distractions and/or annoyance towards Community members. 

Something vital to our staff’s integrity is making sure we aren't biased. As a staff member you must make sure that if you are ever involved in a situation where you feel you might be biased that you bring in a separate member of staff to deal with the situation. 

When on the server, you should always be looking out for tickets or any other issues on the server and should be actively working to solve them. There should never be tickets stacking up and nobody dealing with them. Dereliction of duty can lead to sanctions on the staff team. 

Engage with the community, as a staff member your job is also to help make our community more inclusive and nicer, so try and engage people and make them feel welcomed. Especially newer players.

Don't abuse the /adminmode command which is given to you for easier dealing of issues that need immediate attention. These situations range from Mass RDMing to someone making Racist comments. If you need clarity on use cases, make sure to speak with a higher up. 

Special Custom Classes might have RDM occur more to them, so when dealing with those type of reports make sure to figure out if it was provably malicious or an accident.

Finally, being staff for other communities is prohibited. As we need to have our staff members represent our community not others. Please communicate with Management if you find yourself dual staffing.
