The Indian Head Church of God Community Luncheon Ministry will be offering free homemade soup 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 8th. while supplies last. Soup will be packaged in containers and distributed in the church parking lot by drive through only. The church is located at 691 Indian Creek Valley Road. Everyone is welcome.
Tyrone Presbyterian Church, 402 Jimtown Road, Dawson, recently installed a Blessings Box behind the church building, next to the pavilion. In the box are nonperishable food products donated by members of Tyrone Presbyterian Church and Boy Scout Troop 150. If you are in need, we encourage you to take what you need. If your blessings are abundant, please consider giving what you can.
Dawson Baptist Church and Dawson Volunteer Fire Department installed a Helping Hands Pantry on the fire department property. In the pantry are nonperishable food products donated by members of the church and fire department. Anyone in need is encouraged to take what is needed.
The Saltlick Township building now has a blessing box organized by the 2024 Fayette County Fair Queen, Hailey Bill, with food and hygiene items for those who are in need. Please feel free to stop in and check out the blessing box. The community is welcome to help keep this blessing box stocked for those in need. If you have any questions about the blessing box, please call the township building and talk to the secretary at 724-455-2866.
These sites are overseen by Fayette County Community Action Agency and have income, and other requirements, including only receiving one box per month, per household. Visit the Food Bank webpage for details.
The First Presbyterian Church Food Bank, 102 W. Church Ave., Masontown, will be open Wednesday October 8th from 1 to 2 p.m. Registration is required and can be done that day at the food bank. To volunteer or for more information, call Frank at 724-366-4721.
East End United Community Center, 150 Coolspring Street Uniontown has a monthly. 1st Wednesday of every month between 11am-2pm. The Next Date is Wednesday, October 1.
The Indian Creek Valley food pantry, serving residents of Springfield Township is under new sponsorship through the Critchfield Christian & Missionary Alliance Church. We are now located at 770 Mill Run Rd. across from the Mill Run Fire Hall in the old Grange Hall (where Head Start used to be). Connellsville Area Community Ministries Food Pantry, serving residents of the Connellsville Area School District is held on the second and third Tuesdays and Thursdays of the month from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM at their Care & Share building, 110 W. Crawford Ave., Connellsville.
The Brownsville St. Vincent de Paul-sponsored food bank will be held on Wednesday, September 17th from 11 a.m. to noon in the parking lot of St. Mary’s Social Hall, 118 Church St., Brownsville.
Pleasant View Presbyterian Church, 533 Royal Road, Smock, will host a food bank distribution on Saturday, September 20th at 10 a.m.
The First Christian Church, 512 Second St., Brownsville, will hold a food bank distribution on Saturday September 27th from 9 to 11 a.m. Participants should use the lower-level rear door.

Christian Church of Connellsville offers a free community lunch every Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Sundays Both eat-in and take-out options are available. Everyone is welcome! Christian Church of Connellsville (Disciples of Christ) is located at 212 S. Pittsburgh St., Connellsville.
The Masontown Community Kitchen is open every other Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the First Presbyterian Church, 102 W. Church Ave., Masontown Dinners are provided without charge for everyone, and donations are accepted. For questions or to volunteer your help, call Judy at 724-943-3013 or Frank at 724-366-4721. Otterbein United Methodist Church, 201 Lincoln Ave, Connellsville will be having a Pasta Meal (Meat, Dessert, Side Beverage) on the third Thursday of the Month from 4-6 PM. It is free to eat in with donations accepted. A $5 donation is asked for take-out. The next one is Thursday, September 18th
Albright United Methodist Church, 1626 Pittsburgh St., South Connellsville will be having a Blue Plate Special on the fourth Tuesday of the month from 11 AM to 1 PM. This included Sandwich, Soup, Side and Dessert. It is free to eat in with donations accepted. A $5 donation is asked for take-out. The next one is Tuesday, September 23rd.
Paradise Church, located at 105 Hoke Road, Mt. Pleasant, hosts a free Community Spaghetti Dinner the first Friday of every month. The next dinner will be held 4 to 7 p.m. September 5. Spaghetti with meat sauce (gluten free available upon request), salad, bread, drink and dessert are what is on the menu. This dinner is for you; if you are feeling overwhelmed with life and just need a break from cooking, if your budget is tight this month and your family would enjoy a complimentary hot meal, if you just want to go out for a good home-cooked meal, if you are looking for a night out to socialize or fellowship with others or if you are looking for a place to feel loved and accepted. If you are in need of prayer or healing, church members would be happy to pray with you. This dinner is for anyone and everyone who wants to come. The Philip Cochran Memorial United Methodist Church in Dawson hosts regular meetings of The Compassionate Friends organization at 6:30 the second Monday of each month. Compassionate Friends is a self-help organization offering friendship, understanding and hope to bereave families that have experienced the loss of a child. New members are always welcomed.
