Adolescent mental health and suicide continue to worsen in the United States; however, emotional intelligence and resilience have been recognized as protective psychosocial factors. The purpose of this study is to determine if the mobile How We Feel app intervention can improve emotional intelligence and resilience of adolescents. The specific aims are to:
(1) evaluate the effects of the mobile app intervention on adolescents’ emotional intelligence, resilience, and mental health,
(2) examine post-intervention feedback from selected adolescent to provide a more thorough explanation of the quantitative findings, and
(3) integrate quantitative and qualitative findings to determine the impact of using the mobile app intervention to improve adolescents’ emotional intelligence, resilience, and mental health.
