It's March, Downtown School Families!

It is with great enthusiasm and humility to be given the opportunity to serve The Downtown School for the remainder of this school year as interim principal. My 15 years of experience at The Downtown School have provided me with so much and I'm looking forward to continuing to strengthen all of the things that make The Downtown School such a special place to learn, grow and thrive.

The Downtown School Auction

The DTS Auction is COMING IN APRIL!

This is the Downtown School's largest fundraiser, and it only happens every other year. Hosted by the PTA, this adults-only event includes live and silent auction items and a cash bar. It is also a great chance to connect with other DTS families and to recognize our amazing teachers and staff.

The PTA is still accepting silent auction items. For businesses that don't have products to donate, check out the sponsorship opportunities!

All School Sing

Join us on March 31st for All School Sing in the Central Campus Auditorium!

This month will be more student-led! Each age-level is planning a portion of All School Sing, giving them an opportunity for their students to get on stage, highlight what's happening in their classrooms, and lead a song for our student body.

If you have any connections to programs that might have something they would like to show off, reach out! We'd love to incorporate special guests!

Conferences

April 5th

3:00 -7:30 PM

April 6th - No school on this day

9:30 AM - 7:30 PM

The PTA coordinates snacks and a meal for teachers during conferences. To help, check your email for a note from your classroom PVCs as conferences get closer.

ISASP Testing (3rd-5th)

April 10th-April 20th DTS 3rd through 5th grade students will be engaging with the Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP) and Conditions for Learning Survey (CFL).

If you are interested in your child doing testing preparation, you can find test prep here . If you would like your child to be opted out of the CFL Survey you must complete this form.

Your child's classroom teacher will be in touch with more details as we get closer to testing.
