Dr. Gatson is an Associate Professor of Sociology at Texas A&M and the Principal Investigator of the Everybody Eats: Ethnographic Research on Food Security in Brazos Valley research project. Since 2011, she and her family have been converting their lawn and other areas of their property into food production space. At first only a small herb garden, Dr. Gatson’s professional focus on the sociology of community, citizenship, identity and culture lead her to the development of a food gardening project
A resident of the Brazos Valley since 2006, Mr. McNeely has spent the last four years investigating the role of local religious organizations in addressing the county's significantly high rate of food insecurity. This research is framed in identifying new or underused methods of intervention for religious organizations to further their efforts at eliminating hunger in the Brazos Valley. He is a doctoral candidate in sociology at Texas A&M.
Elif is a junior from Houston, TX majoring in Political Science with a minor in Neuroscience. After graduation, she hopes to attend medical school.
Abdullah is a senior University Studies major with a Veterinary Medicine Concentration at Texas A&M University. He plans to work in the healthcare field as a physician in the future.
Sarah is a Religious Studies major, class of 2022, minoring in French and sociology; Sarah aims to be a part of Religious Ministry.
Emily is a sophomore at Texas A&M majoring in Public Health with the intent to become a Physician's Assistant.
Class of 2022, Caitlin is a junior majoring in Urban and Regional Planning with the aim to be an City Planner.
