Osisi Ikenna Nicholas, a corps member, was sentenced to one-month community service for his involvement in internet-related fraud by the Ibadan Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Him alongside 38 others all received one-count charges. Depending on the crime, the sentences range from a fine to one year in prison, or one to six months of community service. All of the bank accounts in their family have been emptied, the children's video game accounts have been compromised, and the culprit has also applied for nearly 40 other credit cards after the family froze theirs. The best way to prevent this from happening would be to institute multi-factor authentication into the accounts, so even if the hackers get access to the account, they will not be able to enter it.
