This is the Certificate for the first part of the APA workshops focusing on creating bibliographic references in this format. It is very important to provide readers and researchers with the references used to enrich and legitimize their work. Creating bibliographic references gives credit to those who indirectly or directly assisted you in your projects and are also useful for future readers who wish to continue or explore the line of knowledge that you or others have traversed for the creation undertaken.
This is the certificate for the second part of the APA workshops focusing on in-text citations in APA format. Sometimes, there is no better way than to cite an author in a writing or research to express and/or explain aspects of the central argument. With this workshop, I learned how to cite within the text in an academic and organized manner for readers. It is valuable knowledge that will be useful to me and that I can teach to others.
This is the certificate for part 3 of the APA workshops, where we learned how to create a document in APA format, including presentation and formatting. After learning how to cite in-text and create bibliographies in APA, this final workshop taught us that there are also other ways to format documents besides the usual ones. I must admit that I find it a bit confusing to have so many rules for creating papers, but I understand that in academia, there is a format and standard for things. In the world, everyone has their own systems and particular ways of doing things, so what I have learned here works for me when I need to use or teach this specific format to someone else.
I obtained this certificate after attending a webinar on libraries and information access units at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. I learned about the resources and services available at the university. There are many, and it's a shame that a large number of students are unaware of their existence or do not utilize them because they underestimate their value. I believe that this webinar is one that should be offered to all incoming students so that they are aware of the goldmines of information available at the campus.
