Literacy: Writing, Reading & Story time

-Nursery children practise mark making and forming letters in a range of multi-sensory media (paint, glitter, shaving foam, chalk). Practise holding different mark making tools to write and draw, encourage your child to tell you what the different marks mean.

-Encourage children to read and write as much as possible.

-Reception children can practise writing for a range of different purposes (letters, diaries, recipes, cards, lists). Model different types of writing to the children, its just as important at this stage that they see you writing and see a purpose to writing.
