Taste some Chinese food. What do you like? Don't like?
Can you draw a picture to show what the weather is like each day? Reception children practise writing a sentence underneath, e.g. 'It is sunny.' 'It is cloudy.'
Ask a grown up to fill a bowl, bucket or paddling pool with some water. Gather a range of objects, predict which you think will float or sink then test them afterwards to see if you were right.
Get two pieces of bread. Touch one with clean, washed hands, touch the other with dirty hands. Put them in a zip-lock bag and keep checking to see what happens. Can you see any mould? What happened to the colour?
Learn the months of the year. Which month is your birthday? Which month is Christmas? Which month is Halloween?
Plant a seed or bean and watch it grow. Keep checking every week. Draw pictures to show what happens and reception children write a sentence. Don't forget to water it.
