On this page we provide you with the publicly available websites that we used to obtain the information in our map. We only used websites that provided information for the entire country in order to be consistent between At Large Communities; we realize that many states, counties and municipalities have excellent websites that you can use to get information at a more local level. We also acknowledge that the Cherokee Nation has data sovereignty over the information about the Tribe and defer to their government offices rather than provide information concerning the lands within the Cherokee Nation itself.
We provide tutorials for how to build a Google My Maps and the form used in the first activity on this page
Caveats: This map is for demonstration purposes only. Data were accessed from publicly available federal databases for counties that are in the approximate location of At-Large communities as determined from their websites.
The federal databases that were used to get the data used for the map and presentation:
Climate Mapping For Resilience and Adaptation
National Risk Index: This covers a wide range of potential disasters in addition to extreme weather
Population data for counties
County Health Data and Roadmap
National Environmental Public Health Tracking
