In Bordeaux, France at Scratch2017BDX, we met Abellah from Tanzania and learned about shecodesforchange. Talking embroidery and admiring the textiles that she and others from Africa were wearing, we know we wanted to work on a project together.
It was amazing to connect with Simon in Dar es Salaam and his class of girls and boys who were learning to code for the Kanga cloth competition. They showed our students traditional textiles and even translated the Swahili for us.
