During 2019 Arkansas Computer Science Specialist Tammy Glass and Dawson Education Technology Coordinator Tonia McMillan trained over 200 K-12 Educators in how to use TurtleStitch. These trainings took place across the state. Each six hour training provided basic instructions on how to use an embroidery machine and how to design and code using TurtleStitch.
One of the highlights of my career. Being able to share what I have learned on a national level. TurtleStitch has opened so many doors. I couldn't be more proud to represent the work being done in Arkansas with Computer Science.
The second phase of our Digital Design Professional Development doesn't stop with just embroidery. Being able to export files as SVG is allowing educators to bring vinyl machines, CNC Machines, Sublimation, and Laser's into the classroom. Teaching students to use their designs to create products is the next phase of innovation.
