The Saint Francis University Experiential Learning Commons is committed to delivering the highest quality education for healthcare students and professionals by providing access to state-of-the-art instructional technology and curriculum design within a collaborative and interdisciplinary framework. Students, faculty and practicing clinicians can come together to experience high quality and realistic clinical simulation with the goal of improving health outcomes for all patients and clients.
Experiential Learning Commons (ELC) – is a state-of-the-art simulation facility for inter-professional learning for students, educators and practicing healthcare professionals. Key features of the ELC are a 5 room simulation center, a 5 bed inter-professional skills lab, a Homecare Lab (simulated apartment), a debriefing room equipped with audio-video capability to allow viewing of the simulation rooms and a 5 bay control room. The Commons supports training of all programs in the School of Health Sciences and Education (SHSE) as well as other University programs outside of the SHSE seeking to use the Commons for student education. The ELC uses an inter-professional approach by bringing students from a variety of fields together for collaborative learning. In addition, regional EMS and health care professionals have the opportunity to take advantage of the simulation center for continuing education. Learn more About the Lab.
