High-Fidelity Manikin-Based Simulators
High-fidelity manikin-based simulators gives students at SFU the opportunity to immerse themselves in a simulated clinical scenario that looks and feels real. The combination of the simulator and the environment created by the ELC team allows the students to suspend disbelief and to care for the simulator as if it were a real patient, not a manikin. There are six full-body Laerdal high-fidelity manikins in the ELC. Click for more info on each manikin.
Mid-Level Fidelity Simulators
Mid-Level Fidelity Simulators
Perform many of the same functions as the high-fidelity simulators but are simpler and therefore require less training to operate. There are five of these Laerdal manikins in the ELC. Beginners and advanced students alike are able to improve their skills with health assessments using these easy-to-use manikins.
