Conceptualisation
This unit focuses on conceptualising and using the creative process to plan, organise and solve problems.
Students will
1. Use the creative process to plan, organise and solve problems
Achievement Indicator
1.1. Identify steps in the design process and planning for artwork
1.2. Use organised steps in solving design problems or creating works of art
2. Develop ideas from varied sources (research, observations, experiences, imagination, literature, media.)
Achievement Indicator
2.1. Identify various sources for artistic ideas: observation, research, experiences, imagination, literature and media.
2.2. Use ideas from various sources to shape concept for new artwork
2.3. Develop creative ideas from a theme
3. Record and conceptualise various creative idea alternatives using verbal and visual
Presentations (eg. working sketches, labeled diagrams, journals, etc...)
Achievement Indicators
3.1. Generate several possible creative ideas
3.2. Select the most suitable option
3.3. Represent the ideas through illustrations and written descriptions, labels or notes. (These can include: diagrams, working sketches, journal entries, preparatory sketch for the art to be produced).
4. Envision their ideas as works of art by selecting suitable materials, techniques and the art elements and principles.

4.1. Show evidence of consideration of suitable materials, techniques and visual elements and principles in conceptualising the intended creative outcome
4.1. Develop themes and ideas that demonstrates an awareness and sensitivity to local or global environmental issues.
