We value open and accessible science. When our lab develops tools that we expect to be useful for the community, we provide these through repositories.
Plasmids are available from Addgene
Various C. difficile strains, including control strains for antimicrobial susceptibility testing, are available through NCTC
A collection of R. gnavus strains for which we have generated complete genomes is available from DSMZ
If researchers are interested in published strains or constructs that are not (yet) available through these resources, we encourage them to reach out to us.
If our studies involve omics data that is suitable for reanalysis, we strive to make these available via dedicated repositories. The relevant accessions are listed in our publications.
The LUMC hosts the Dutch National Expertise Center for C. difficile infections in collaboration with the Centre for Infectious Disease Control of the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM). We perform surveillance and ad hoc typing for national and international partners. For this, we use a well-characterized collection of reference isolates.
Currently, we perform both capillary electrophoresis PCR ribotyping, as well as whole genome-based typing.
