We are open to host students in our lab for internships (at bachelor and master level), but spaces are limited and generally filled well in advance. Expect that you will have to contact us at least 3 months in advance, and preferably earlier.
Internships are coordinated by Jeroen Corver, so please reach out to him if you are interested.
To ensure the best possible experience, we feel that it is important that the interests of the student and supervisor align well, and there is a match between style of supervision and needs of the student. We therefore usually invite you to meet in person and discuss the possibilities, after which we can jointly make an informed decision.
Students in our lab actively participate in work discussions, both formal (at least twice, at the beginning and end of the internship; more, if the internship is longer than 3 months) and informal (biweekly).
Members of our group also participate in the research clusters "Pathogens and Drugs" and "Microbiome and Health" of the LUCID Department of LUMC.
We are proud of the work our students do, and reflect this in co-authorships if the experiments are used for a publication. This can be a direct outcome of the internship, but also be some time after this.
We value a work space in which everyone feels welcome and appreciated.

If there are any open positions in our group, we will indicate this here.
We are always open to explore funding applications for postdoctoral researchers. If you are interested in applying for a fellowship (e.g. EMBO Postdoctoral Fellowship or a Postdoctoral Fellowship under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions) or are otherwise able to secure relevant funding, please reach out to us.
