At the time of abstract submission you can choose to be considered for an award.
Tow finalists for each category will be selected based on the merit of their abstract. (More information about the criteria can be found below)
The finalists will be notified prior to the conference and will be asked to prepare a 2-minute informal talk about their work. The talk can be accompanied by a single power-point slide.
Finalists will be asked to present their work during the Award Ceremony, in the Turner Auditorium. A first prize and an honorable mention will be given for each category.
Abstracts will be reviewed by scientists from a wide range of disciplines. Therefore, it is highly recommended that abstracts be written (or revised) for a general academic audience.
For trainees from schools/institutions outside of Baltimore, awards will be announced on Thursday 14th, at the end of the virtual Flash-talk session
Comprehension and content
Abstract provided clear background and significance to the research question
Abstract clearly described the research strategy/design and the results/findings of the research
Abstract clearly described the conclusions, outcomes, and impact of the research
All presentations - should be prepared for a general academic audience.
