Enabling Notifications on Google Calendar

The time is changing and our Fridays are returning to normal (insert weeping emoji), so you may need to update some of your Google Calendar Notification settings. Here's a quick 'How-To':

Changing a calendar's notifications

    1. On your computer, open Google Calendar.
    2. In the top right, click Settings Settings.
    3. On the left, click General Event settings.
    4. Under “Event settings,” you can choose to:
      1. Turn notifications on or off: Click Notifications, and select how you want to get them.
      2. Get notified only for Yes or Maybe responses: Click Automatically add invitations Yes, but don’t send event notifications unless I have responded “Yes” or “Maybe.”.

Changing event notifications

You can also change notifications for a specific event:

  1. Open Google Calendar.
  2. Click the event.
  3. Click Edit
  4. Next to Notifications , choose how you'd like to be notified.
  5. At the top of the page, click Save.
