During this program, students will be exposed to ancient and Modern Greek culture, and get the opportunity to and engage with the fundamentals of archaeology, all while enjoying the superb Greek summer, sun, and beaches.
The program includes:
1) A six-day visit to Athens is where students will visit various archaeological and cultural sites and museums, and explore topics, such as ancient Athenian Democracy, the relationship between politics, religion, etc.
2) Day trips to other famous archaeological sites, such as Mycenae, Epidaurus, Olympia, and Delphi, and examine the origins of popular myths such as the Trojan war as well as the relationship between sports and various sectors of society and cultural production.
3) The Aegean island of Kea. On the island, students will visit important archaeological and cultural sites on the island as well as engage with the fundamentals of archaeology and conservation - all while handling archaeological materials and getting trained on digital photogrammetry with handheld cameras and UAVs. They will also be exposed to the various stages of traditional food production and preparation in a program that will take them from the farm to the table.

Application fee: A one-time non-refundable fee of $200 is due at the time of application.
Program fee: $6,522 per student
Includes insurance, tuition, housing, one meal per day, transportation, excursions, and sightseeing, lectures, as well as other cultural activities and experiences.

The proposed program consists of an intensive four-week program designed to:
· expose students to a foreign culture and expand their cultural awareness and literacy,
· allow students to develop an appreciation for the art, and culture of ancient Greece
· provide students with the opportunity to get involved in archaeological research and engage with the fundamentals of archaeology, conservation, and digital photogrammetry
The program features:
formal lectures on various topics by the leaders of the program and local specialists,
visits to archaeological sites, museums, and other sites appropriately selected to showcase the topics.
handling and analyzing archaeological materials
training in digital photogrammetry. Students will train in the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs or drones), as well as in creating 3D digital models which capture our world in a single moment in time and preserve it in the digital realm for all to view. Experience with UAVs and photogrammetry is valuable, as both have applications across many fields and interests.
