TGC: A group of 20 teachers from around the U.S. and I took an online course in the Fall of 2022. We were told our destinations in December. (Other locations were Ghana, Colombia, and El Salvador). Then, in January, we met in Washington, DC for a symposium and met our cohort and teachers in person. Finally, in March we met in Paris for our entrance to Casablanca as a group. We spent a couple of days in Casablanca before dispersing to our host cities and school. After a week, we met as a cohort for a week in Rabat visiting cultural sites and international schools. The last 2 days were agian in Casblanca before our flights home.
DAST: I was selected in the fall of 2023 as an expert teacher to instruct pre-service teachers in an university in Agadir. I spent 6 weeks in May and June, 2024 teaching a course which helped the teachers develop soft skills such as goal setting, communication, collaboration, and leadership.

Our first sight of the medina at Marrakesh!
Our host school was a public school. We also visited one of the oldest schools in Marrakesh, a private school , and a language center. All had amazing teachers and respectful students

A day trip to Essaouira and a Fantasia
These teachers know how to have fun together! They are chanting a traditional song typically song at Fantasias such as this.
At the Fantasia, horse riders do tricks as well as run the horses really fast, stop suddenly, and shoot their rifles in the air (with fake ammo).
Marrakesh
Exploring Jamaâ El Fna Square during the day and night were 2 very different experiences!
Meriem, our host teacher, was an excellent guide and expert negotiator!
