College Preparation and Credit, Scholarships, and a unique education
College Preparation
Students who plan to attend college after high school are better prepared, and more successful, than many of their peers who did not complete the IB program:
72% of IB students attended a four-year college compared to 53% for non-IB students.
95% of IB students enrolled immediately in college, while just 60% of non-IB students did.
Just 2% of IB students leave college after their first year, while 13% of non-IB students drop out.
Students from Title I schools, including low-income and minority students, enroll in college at much higher rates than national averages.
Evans IB graduates have been accepted to and have attended colleges throughout Florida and the United States, including: Harvard University, Princeton University, Stanford University, the University of Notre Dame, Vassar College, Brown University, Emory University, the US Military Academy at West Point, the US Naval Academy at Annapolis, the US Air Force Academy, UCLA, NYU, the University of Florida, the University of Miami, Florida State University, Rollins College, FAMU, Florida International University, and more.
They have gone on to study abroad in places as diverse as Senegal, Japan, China, France, and countries throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.
College Credit and Scholarships
All schools in the Florida State University System award credit to IB students, based on their scores. In addition, the State of Florida awards the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship to students who earn an IB Diploma (regardless of SAT or ACT test scores). This scholarship covers 100% of tuition at a state college or university!
In 2023, 98% of students who graduated from the Evans IB Program earned college credit.
Collectively, the IB class of 2023 earned well over $2 million in scholarship offers, including those who earned the 100% Florida Bright Futures Scholarship.
Evans IB graduates have earned the prestigious Gates Millennium Scholarship, Questbridge College Match Scholarship, Elevation Scholarship, and many others.
Our program faculty works closely with the College and Career Resource Center in assisting students in filling out the FAFSA, as well as applying for as many scholarships as possible.

be encouraged to think independently and drive their own learning
take part in education that can lead them to some of the highest ranking universities
become more culturally aware, through the development of a second language
be able to engage with people in an increasingly globalized, rapidly changing world.
