Évan è il nome che ho scelto per dare voce a ciò che nella vita quotidiana non trova parole.

Mi chiamo Ivan Portoghese, autore e paroliere indipendente.

Privo di formazione musicale accademica, ho sviluppato un approccio personale alla scrittura maturato attraverso anni di ascolto attento e lettura. In gioventù ho scritto racconti, per dare forma alla fantasia e lasciare qualcosa di sé nelle parole. Quella stessa necessità espressiva mi ha condotto, molto più tardi, alla musica.

Il mio progetto Dietro le luci è un'opera concept articolata in più album, un EP e una mitologia in espansione. Testi in italiano, adattati in francese e in inglese, in versioni orchestrali, acustiche e per pianoforte. Un universo che si è costruito seguendo la propria logica interna.

Al centro del mio lavoro c'è un approccio preciso e stratificato alla scrittura lirica — testi costruiti non per descrivere le emozioni, ma per incarnarle nella struttura e nel linguaggio. Per la produzione musicale mi sono avvalso di strumenti AI, che mi hanno permesso di dare suono a una visione che altrimenti sarebbe rimasta silenziosa.

Dietro le luci è un diario sonoro di luce, perdita e trasformazione. E spero che tu, ascoltatore, possa ritrovarti dietro queste luci.

Évan is the name I chose to give voice to what everyday life leaves unspoken.

My name is Ivan Portoghese, an independent songwriter and lyricist.

Without formal musical training, I developed a personal approach to writing shaped by years of careful listening and reading. In my youth I wrote stories, to give form to my imagination and leave something of myself in words. That same expressive need led me, much later, to music.

My project Behind the Lights — originally Dietro le luci — is a concept work spanning multiple albums, an EP, and an expanding mythology. Lyrics written in Italian, adapted into French and English, across orchestral, acoustic, and piano arrangements. A universe that built itself, following its own internal logic.

At the core of my work is a precise, layered approach to lyrics — texts built not to describe emotions, but to embody them in structure and language. For music production I made use of AI tools, which allowed me to give sound to a vision that would otherwise have remained silent.

Behind the Lights is a sonic diary of light, loss, and transformation. And I truly hope that you, the listener, may find yourself behind these lights
