Schools will complete all steps of the project supported by our team.
Specifically, this will include:
Releasing at least one TA from their normal duties to receive training, deliver the programme, and to take part in focus groups.
Working with our team to send appropriate information materials to parents.
Allowing time for pupils in Years 3 and 4 to complete Reading Screen and allowing staff to select pupils to complete the RILL programme based on pupil's scores on this activity (N.B., we will provide support to staff completing this).
Allowing pupils selected to take part in the project time to complete (a) the assessment activities and (b) the RILL programme (N.B., pupils will complete the RILL programme in addition to classroom based literacy instruction).
Providing TAs and pupils with an appropriate IT equipment with an internet connection (see below) in a quiet area of the school to complete the assessment activities and the RILL programme.
We ask that schools meet the following technological requirements:
The teacher has access to a computer with Windows 10 or later (pupils are able to complete the programme on Chromebooks).
Microsoft 365 is installed locally on the machine (i.e., not used through a web browser).
The internet connection is capable of streaming short videos.
