Pankaj and Mamta (original writers of Short Film Smile) came up with this Idea of ‘Gift’ story from the fact that most parents are indoors currently due to lockdown and pandemic everywhere including Sydney, Australia however we tend to be more distant from one another due to our different priorities.
Parents these days no longer find spending time with each other any important. The Father’s day celebrations in Australia is a good platform for bringing out such stories and addressing the most important thing that truly matters – ‘your gift of your time’. Material things will not matter eventually – what will remain with you is the happy memory you created together.
Production & filming design: It is lockdown in Sydney so a lot of things needed to be achieved in a restrictive manner. Pankaj dabbled in several hats including Camera, editing and acting for the project whilst Mamta assisted him with the production design & editing support. We are very pleased that we were able to complete the film and were able to release this in the week of Father’s Day celebrations focusing on a very important message for everyone
