Etz Chayim’s Jewish and Israel Action Committee (Etz JIAC) invites you to join us at 11am on Sunday January 31, 2021 online for an enlightening and stimulating discussion with IsraAID.

Speakers: Amir Kashfi and Rachel Wallace

IsraAID is Israel's leading humanitarian aid non-governmental organization. It is committed to providing emergency relief and durable solutions for populations affected by natural disasters, epidemics, refugee crises, and post-conflict situations. IsraAID works with communities that may otherwise not typically collaborate with Israeli partners. The presenters will highlight how these collaborations are accomplished. Since its inception in 2001, IsraAID has become synonymous with a rapid response to humanitarian crises, as well as its long-term, sustainable programs. When responding to crises, IsraAID forms partnerships with local communities on the ground, and to those partnerships, brings its unique expertise in areas such as mental health/psychosocial support, trauma, medical support, and water. IsraAID is responding to COVID19 in 16 nations, and has responded to crises in more than 53 nations. For more info on IsraAID, click here.

Amir Kashfi and Rachel Wallace will discuss IsraAID's projects with Middle Eastern refugees in Greece and Germany. Amir is a Persian Jew from LA, and beautifully shares his experience as an Iranian American working with Iranian and other Mid. Eastern refugees/asylum seekers in Germany.

Amir Kashfi supported IsraAID in Germany with its outreach, community building, and psychosocial support programs for Iranian and Middle Eastern refugees. In 2020, he helped lead IsraAID’s COVID-19 response at local food banks. He is a recent Public Affairs and Human Biology UCLA graduate.

Rachel Wallace is the Director of Outreach & Engagement at IsraAID, Israel’s largest humanitarian aid organization. She oversees IsraAID’s community and university partnerships, programs, and events, and directs IsraAID’s Humanitarian Fellowship.

Participation is free. To join, please reserve your seat here.

Even if you’re not sure if you can make it, please sign up in advance since the Zoom credentials will be emailed in advance and not be posted online.

The Etz Chayim Jewish and Israel Action Committee (Etz JIAC) is a group of congregants who are proud and inspired by the accomplishments and contributions of Israel and Jews. We are engaged in articulating the positive aspects of Jews and Israel and working to refute both misunderstandings and deliberate lies of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement as well as anti-Israel and anti-Semitic activities on middle school, high school and college campuses across the country. We arrange for guest speakers, and provide occasional update and action alert emails so that recipients can make their voices heard. For more information, see our website: http://Etz-Jiac.org
