The Olympic Games took place in Olympia (in western Peloponese) ,every 4 years to honour Zeus, from 776 B.C. to 393 AD This mears that 293 Olympic games took place. In 392 AD ,Theodosios I (the first),a Byzantine Emperor abolised the Olympic Games. In the 19 th Century 4 Olympics took place in Athens. In 1896 the Games became interahoral and were named ''Olympic Games
