Stormwater management is critical to control flooding and pollution that damages infrastructure and waterways. The city of Elizabethtown deals with high concentrations of sediment, nitrogen, and phosphorous within runoff. These pollutants are harming wildlife and nearby Buffalo Lake. Designing two new best management practices (BMPs) to minimize total suspended solids by 80% and reduce nitrogen and phosphorus loads will help the city restore the watershed and save money.
