Goals/Objectives of the Session:

The intent of the panel presentation is to discuss ethics, equity ,and accessibility. By the end of the live session and through engaging with the resources and activities provided you will have the opportunity to:

Consider perspectives about ethics, equity, and accessibility and how these terms can be defined in relationship to AI
Consider how AI connects to teaching and assessment and what questions can be used help promote generative dialogue with colleagues
Consider the opportunities and challenges for AI in education
Explore AI applications that can be leveraged to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion

SMARTIE is an innovative suite of web applications designed to help university-level educators create comprehensive and inclusive course outlines. The application suite can help educators design a variety of course components, including descriptions and learning outcomes, corresponding learning activities that are EDI-aware, and rubric redesign recommendations.

What are the opportunities and challenges presented by the evolution of technologies in the digital age?

View the following video (3:45) for an example of McLuhan’s Tetrad OR search for other examples.
Brainstorm changes, using this worksheet, that are already occurring or will occur with the use of generative AI in your context. Add ideas to each of the following four quadrants: enhance, obsolete, retrieve, reverse.
What are the possibilities/opportunities and challenges that are presented within each of the quadrants?
