Excited to have you join ETH 10: Intro to Ethnic Studies. Our 16-week semester online asynchronous semester course begins: Monday, August 26, 2024. The course will be visible on Canvas on that day.
My name is Dr. Nievera-Lozano and I have been teaching for over a decade across different institutions in the Bay Area (at EVC for 5 years) in the fields of education, ethnic studies, and gender studies.
I'm really excited to collaborate with scholars like you in the physical classroom space. It's been a minute!
This is your syllabus. Please read it in its entirety to stay ready each week. You’ll find so many answers to your questions here.

We acknowledge that we gather at Evergreen Valley College on the unceded aboriginal homeland of the Tamien Nation, past, present, and future. We honor with gratitude the Tamien People who teach us that our relationship with the land is reciprocal, and we must work in unison to keep the world in balance. As educators we believe in the power of words and make this land acknowledgement as a commitment to partner and advocate for a more equitable and inclusive future.
