Introduction:

I would suggest that my exegesis is by far the most parsimonious and common sense explanation of the Sonnets ever constructed.

I believe I have illustrated how the sonnets are mostly epistles to the "Virgin Queen" to live on through her secret son.  Essentially a poetical translatio imperii.  And the only liberty I've taken with them is to reverse the order and illustrate the roman à cléf nature of the sequence by providing what I would suggest is the correct context.   And the reversal was something of a steganographic methodology to conceal their true meaning.  And thus this solution has always been available and intended since their publication.  A timely story of Jacobeans leaking Government secrets.  You can think of as a poetic WikiLeaks.

If readers would like to know if this whole thing is an elaborate "jeu d'esprit" I won't say, what fun would that be if it had?  But I do hope it has "le plaisir d'un roman".

Also if readers care to compare my text to originals here are several resources they might find of value.  Quarto text care of the University of Toronto and original images care of the University of Victoria.
