Venngage (the name combines the words Venn diagram and engage) was founded in 2011 by Eugene Woo, a software engineer and analyst from Toronto, Canada who aim to make the infographics creation process easier for a non designer. Woo pitched the idea of 'creating an infographic generator with one click' to investors and ended up receiving first place at a Startup Weekend Hackathon in 2011.
The company came from humble beginnings, with only 1 funding history.
As big data and AI becomes more and more popular, the demand for an intuitive application to generate simple to digest information for businesses, non-profit organizations, educators, learners, and sole-proprietors to tell a story will only continue to grow. Also with the rise of popularity of Virtual Reality (VR), people will not be reading as much text, but will be immersed with sounds, visuals, infographics and videos.
"With the noise from social media, phones, etc. People need easier way to
tell as story and to interpret data." Eugene Woo

There are many ways to integrate data into Venngage. One of the most popular is importing an excel spreadsheet into the program. The program will automatically create visually pleasing charts that are ready to be presented to Managers. The simple visualization reports are easy to interpret and can promote data-driven decisions for the team. For sole-proprietors or teams without large excel spreadsheets, users also have the option to manually input data into the program.

Venngage sought out funding opportunity only once through it's many years in the market so it is quite remarkable how far the company has come. In fact, the CEO mentioned that it was difficult to secure investors because he was not good at pitching. However, few companies can offer such a smooth integration of databases into the software and generate such visually pleasing charts in such a quick turnaround. The pricing is also quite affordable compared to other competitors.
Venngage is well aware of their competition. In fact, they include quite a few articles that talks compares their product VS other programs:
