ISPS - Individual Student Problem Solving

In the Individual Student Problem Solving phase, we dig further into data to determine why students may not be making expected progress. We analyze issues around intervention content and delivery to identify areas in which to intensify interventions or match intensification techniques and strategies to meet intervention group needs. This is an opportunity to problem solve, plan for examination of practices, and make adjustments to instruction as needed.

Individual Student Problem Solving worksheet - Use this worksheet to guide you through the steps of identifying  a problem, analyzing why the problem may be occurring, setting a student performance goal, developing a plan to implement, and then evaluating whether the plan is working or adjustments need to be made. 

Problem Solving Model -  a four-step process to help guide decision making.  The problem-solving model is an evidence-based way of work that can be applied to any level: individual/inter-personal, small groups and organizations (schools, districts, state). When used with fidelity, the problem-solving process has been shown to improve student outcomes.
