For this project we had to explore how social media impacts us by taking a survey.
After taking this survey my results were,
Congratulations! Psychologists estimate that as many as 5 to 10% of Americans meet the criteria for social media addiction today. But luckily, that's not you! Not checking social media every few minutes doesn't make you feel anxious, as you prefer to live 'in the moment' rather than through your apps. You use social media to your advantage, at work and to connect with friends and family, but you know when to put it away. Keep it up!
I realized that I don't use social media as much as I really thought I did and that I actually have a pretty healthy relationship with social media. I hope to be able to maintain this in the future.
I found this one interesting just because I would've thought that an app like TikTok for example would be the most used by adults because it is a very popular app. Almost any age group is on there and it's just surprising that Youtube is the most used app by adults.
I would say that social media can have a huge negative impact on society. Sometimes people on there can be very mean, very judgmental and rude for no reason. People on there can easily make you feel insecure about yourself, about the way you talk, act, or even dress and it's a place that can really impact your mental health in a very negative way. I would say that having social media at times isn't really worth it and people shouldn't depend their whole life on it.
Surprisingly I'm one of the very few people who aren't as addicted to social media. I actually have a very healthy relationship with it, and I hope to keep this up in the future so that I don't make my life depend only on social media like some people do.
