ASTRONOMY: EXPLORING THE SOLAR SYSTEM, THE GALAXIES, AND THE UNIVERSE WITH THE HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE
Before getting started, look up the California standards for astronomy for your grade level.
Then go to the Hubble Telescope Website.
Click on Menu - Science
Notice that you have a variety of options:
Key Concepts
Solar Systems
Exoplanets
Stars and Nebulas
Galaxies
Universe
Cosmic Wonders
Create a scavenger hunt assignment that your students could work on individually or as a small group.
Send them to each site so they learn about the telescope and why it is so important, various parts of our solar system and space, and important scientists along the way (can you find anyone female or BIPOC individuals to teach them about?).
Can you create questions that force them to draw an image or use specific colors to break it up so they aren’t just writing words?
Is it possible for you to create questions/plans so that they make connections between space and their real lives?

Provide a rough outline of 2 activities or labs that you plan to include in your final e-Portfolio related to the topics for SLO1. These should be posted to your e-Portfolio SLO1 page that you have created on your Google Site. Please keep in mind that these assignments are going to be used for you to show that you have mastered the content for this SLO.
Remember that we continue to work on these assignments so just get started.
