For this assignment, I was assigned to explore how social media can impact my life and the world
After I completed the, " Am I Addicted To Social Media?'' Quiz my results were
You're fairly reliant on social media, but there are far worse culprits! Still, it's good to be reminded that UK adults spend an average of 8 hrs 41 mins on screens every day, and 4 hours of that on smartphone apps alone (mainly social media). That's about a third of each day checking apps. Do you need to rethink your social media habits and the amount of time you spend scrolling?
I really need to better my social media usage I do feel like these results are correct. Sometimes I find myself mindlessly scrolling and find myself in a funk whenver I do such a thing. I have an app called opel which can block certain apps that I chose so I wont use them as much so ill make sure to block some apps during the day such instagram, twitter, and youtube.
The most interesting social media statistic that I found was was that people under 30 years old use snapchat and instagram way more than people above 30 years old. The age gaps are very wide. I chose this statistic because I use snapchat, instagram, and tik tok so it would make sense that alot people my age use it. This statistic is interesting because I know most people above 3o years old would prefer to use facebook instead of the three popular social media apps.
The impact that social media can have on society can be both postive and negative depending on the way you use it. In a positive way you could find jobs, build a business, connect with friends, or buy items through social media. The opposite would be talking bad about someone, comparing your life to another person or watching things you probably shouldn't watch. The impact on society can be felt all across the world, businesses are starting to form themselves around social media to better their business.
I learned throughout this project that I probably do spend a good amount of time on social media and I need to cut back on it. This will be something that I will take into account in my personal life to better myself.
