Backrooms are a glitch that occurs in the ErickCraftStudiosVerse. They are the result of ErickCraftStudios stopping uploading Roblox videos, causing the zone to become neglected and end up decomposing, turning into the backrooms.

When someone reaches the backrooms by dying, they are converted into their Roblox avatar version. If someone enters through another method, their stock version will continue to be maintained.
