A group of eight teachers from Spain and Latvia participated in the job shadowing activities at our school from 20 to 24 November 2023. The visiting teachers had the opportunity to see different teaching methods, our teachers organized activities in English while our students strengthened their public speaking, English communication, self-confidence and certainly enjoyed a break from the daily school routine. The activities included students from grades 1a, 1b, 1e, 2b, 2d, 2h, 3a, 3b, 3c, 3e, 4a, 4b, 4c and 4d. and fifteen teachers and school staff.
Lyceum Gazi, Heraklion, Greece
In the week from 18 to 22 December 2023, three teachers from Crete visited our school for teaching observation activities. Various activities were organized for the visiting teachers: a visit to the classroom, a presentation by students attending optional English classes about our country, city and school, a presentation and round table about projects in our school, a guided tour of Zagreb, a workshop on inclusion and informal socializing with our teachers in Zagreb and Samobor. Ten teachers and students from grades 1a, 1b, 2c, 2d, 3c, 4b, 4c, 4d and 4e participated in the activities.
Klara Teoretiska Gymnasium, Goteborg, Sweden
Colleague Kristina Tengelin from Gothenburg, Sweden, came to visit us to prepare for the arrival of a group of 22 students and two teachers in March. The teacher toured the school accompanied by our students, observed lessons in History, Croatian and English, and had a meeting with the Erasmus team and the principal. She also informally socialized with our teachers in her free time and got to know Zagreb and Zaprešić.
MARISTAS LA INMACULADA GRANADA, Granada, Spain
In the week from 8 to 12 April 2024, two teachers from Granada (Spain) visited our school for job shadowing activities. Various activities were organized for the visiting teachers: a presentation of the school, a visit to the classroom, a presentation on the Croatian education system, a presentation and a round table on similarities and differences in assessment in Spain and Croatia, a trip to Plitvice, a guided tour of Zagreb, and informal socializing with our teachers in Zaprešić and Samobor.
Scola Secundária D. Martinho Vaz de Castelo Branco, Lisbon, Portugal
Agrupamento de Escola Albufeira, Albufeira, Portugal
In the week of May 6-9, 2024, two teachers from Portugal (Agrupamento de Escola Albufiera) and two teachers from Scola Secundaria D. Marinho Vaz de Castelo Branco from Lisbon, visited our school. The teachers are professors of philosophy and psychology, so we prepared a visit to the philosophy class for them, and the school pedagogue conducted a workshop on non-verbal communication with students, which the visiting teachers had the opportunity to observe. Teachers from Lisbon followed STEM subject. In addition to presenting the school and the education system, as well as our eTwinning and Erasmus projects, the students took the guests around Zagreb and prepared interesting facts about the history and present of the city for them. On Thursday (5/9/3034), we had an Open Day and school projects, so the teachers could learn about all the extracurricular activities and see the results of project teaching.
UNIVERSIDAD LABORAL OF MÁLAGA HIGH SCHOOL, Malada, Spain
In the period from 3 to 6 June 2024, three teachers from the secondary economic school in Malaga visited our school. One economics teacher and two mathematics teachers participated in the job shadowing activities and, in addition to visiting the classes, we prepared presentations for them about the education system in Croatia, the method of evaluation, we presented our extracurricular activities and eTwinning and Erasmus projects. In addition to staying at the school, the visiting teachers had the opportunity to visit the natural and cultural sights of our country: Plitvice Lakes, Samobor, Zagreb and Zaprešić.
Four teachers from the Finnish school Niittykummen, as part of their teaching observation activities, visited the SUVAG Polyclinic Elementary School, Šestine Elementary School, and our high school. On Tuesday, October 15, 2024, they observed classes at our school and visited the ethics, geography, and mathematics classes. After the teaching observation activities, they participated as panelists at a discussion moderated by our students for students and staff of our school, as well as guests from the City of Zagreb and Zagreb County.
IES CIUDAD JARDIN, Badajoz, Spain
In the week of December 10-13, 2024, two teachers from the IES CIUDAD JARDIN high school in Badajoz, Spain, visited our school as part of a teaching observation activity. During their stay at our school, they were given activities: observation of English and Geography classes, presentations of good practice examples on implementing inclusion, eTwinning and the Erasmus project. They also heard about the education system in Croatia and had an informal conversation with students about the computer technician program at our school. They spent the last day in fieldwork in Zagreb with our first high school classes.
Liceul Energetic Constanta, Romania
A delegation from the Liceul Energetic high school from Constanta, Romania, consisting of the principal, deputy principal, librarian and two teachers, spent one day in our school to observe how we work. They were received by the principal and discussed the similarities and differences between our schools, educational systems and especially the way modular teaching is implemented in vocational schools. They talked with the school pedagogue about the specifics of the schools and about working with students outside of regular classes. They also participated in an ethics class where they were involved in the workshop "What does it mean to be European?" together with the students.
