The 5th student exchange took part in Hungary with the participation of 23 guest students and 11 teachers. Students spent five days together with their peers and stayed at Hungarian host families to get acquainted with Hungarian culture and lifestyle. The main topic of the meeting was Arts and Crafts, so activities were mainly centred around these themes. Prior to the meeting students had carried out a research related to national traditional folk arts and needed to pick one to teach to their peers. They needed to create a tutorial video as well as a presentation. During the meeting they presented their findings in the form of ppt presentations and films. During the week students worked in international groups and carried out multi-disciplinary activities that were based on mostly Art. The theme was divided into three parts: traditional art, sustainable art and art created with the help of IT. Students presented and taught a national craft technique to their peers. A sustanainable art workshop was also organised where students learnt about the importance of environmental awareness and created pieces of art using recycled materials. An IT workshop was also organised where students learnt how to code a programme to make works of art digitally.
Besides workshops, teachers were also invited to take part in the lessons to share good practices and useful tools. All the activities planned for the meeting could be fully completed and these activities had a strong team-building effect and contributed to the strong relationship between partners. The participating teachers also got acquainted with the Hungarian educational system and had an opportunity to observe classes. We agreed on duties and responsibilities for carrying out the following project activities.
A visit to the local library was paid where an escape room was organised in a strong cooperation of the Hungarian school and the library. Also, students explored Százhalombatta interactively carrying out challenges and solving riddles along the way. The exercises were created I a way that they covered multiple subject areas.
We organised trips to Budapest to visit major sights and went to the Hospital in the Rock to learn about History. Also a visit to the House of Music was organised where we learnt a lot about music and had an excellent time. During the sightseeing trips the sights were introduced by students and interactive elements were incorporated.
A visit to Székesfehérvár was made taking part in an interactive guided tour and visiting the local crafts house were traditional art techniques were presented and learnt.
A game afternoon was organised where students played together and during the last evening a quiz night took place where participants could experience an authentic pub quiz covering multiple subject areas.
During the meeting all activities were recorded and reported with the onvolvement of local media (newspaper and television).
The students spent five days together with their peers and stayed at host families and attended lessons and Art workshops, cooperated in project and team-building activities inmixed-nationality groups and took part in cultural events to learn about each other’s traditions, communicating in foreign language, learning each other’s mother tongue, gaining teamwork skills in an international environment. They visited places that are part of Unesco Heritage and took part in workshops carried out by the local partners. By the end of the mobility the students had improved their skills and learnt a lot about sustainablilty as well. All participants' intercultural, linguistic, social and digital skills were developed and all the activities as well as acquired knowledge and skills were documented in Europass Mobility documents Students worked in mixed nationality groups in the workshops and they had to organise themselves in their spare time. They needed to cooperate in the interactive tasks. They got acquainted with many local students outside the project.
Places of cultural and historical importance were visited accompanied by guided tours and interactive tasks. Teachers could observe lessons and methods and good practices. Project management issues, details of tasks ahead were also discussed. Teachers had an opportunity to network and establish new contacts for future collaborations.
Members of local teaching staff and partners outside institutions were involved in all activities, new contacts could be made. During the field trips and cultural visits we gained insight into Hungarian history, art and architecture. Participants had an opportunity to taste traditional Hungarian foods during the farewell party.
All participants were asked to monitor and report the activities of the meeting so that a detailed report could be given to the other members of the national project teams. All project dissemination platforms were updated and all events and results were reported.
