The Author - Phil Huntington
Phil Huntington is an author, speaker, and financial expert. He has written several books on personal finance topics, including Equity Release, which he co-authored with Steven Thomas. All these endeavours have helped make him the well-known and respected personality that he is today!
He has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Princeton University in recognition for his contributions to public education about money matters and elected as President of the Council for Financial Education from a non-profit organisation that promotes financial literacy.
Phil's writing career started in the mid-1980s when he became editor of The Headline and as deputy editor of Central Society. He went on to be a literary director at Vander Publishing before becoming editorial director of Meraki Publishing in 1988.
Phil Huntington enjoys loving family life with his wife, daughter and son. He is all about the relationship side of finance, which he has developed in conjunction with his writing, speaking and radio show hosting roles. He is from Yorkshire and has been a resident of London since the 1970s; he is currently residing at his home in Notting Hill.
Since 2006, Phil has worked for a financial services company called MJM Global Services Group. He is their Chief Executive Officer and Director. This means he not only works there every day but also helps to run it! His job duties include working on marketing campaigns, making sure they have enough money coming in from different sources like TV advertising, and leading debates at various conferences about equity release. In addition to this work, he's also done some writing - both books and articles over time too!
In 2014, Phil was presented with an Outstanding Achievement Award by Center For Young Entrepreneurs for his work advising young people near the end of their studies about how to fund themselves and establish their own business. It fitted recognition given that this is a subject he has spent time thinking about for many years and is passionate about.
