Pitch : When Doom take place in a Hunger Game arena

Synopsis : In 2123, Sam, a member of an ecological organization, will infiltrate the deadly and most popular show “The be[a]st shows”.

With his gun who fires gravity bullet and the help of the allies he made (or not), he will survive each round of this game to reach his final target: the show entertainer.

Intention :

Create a fast fps in a dystopian futuristic universe with a mixing of both action phases and narrative reflection phases.
Let the player build relationships with some characters in the narrative phases, and thus live the action phases in a more thoughtful way, being careful not to kill just anyone.
Providing a gameplay based on the gravity with the Gravity Gun. The goal is to offer a lively and fast gameplay while offering a system of reflection.

Delay : 10 Days in a team of 3 peoples

World Building : I used the Pestel method to do the worldbuilding

Politics : The world is a dystopia controled by corporations. The media works for them.

Economy: The world is overpopulated and unemployement is high

Social : The richest people live on an orbital stations while the poor still live on Earth

Technology : Robot serves has worker and fighter. A lot of money was used to create many TV shows with a lot of special effect.

Environment: The world is poluted, even the water is poisonous

Legal: It's legal to killed in a TV shows

Narrative System (made on Coda.io): The narrative system is based on a relationship between 8 character Archetype. Each of them favor different actions/gift

Archetype:

Quest Design: The level pathing is inspired by Doom but with a multiplayer approach.

The walkthrough while slightly change depending on the last NPC with whom we spoke

Cutscenes are played depending on which relationship you have develop with one of the 8 archetypes.

Articy : The first game have ended and now the protagonist enter for the first time in the Dormitory. In this phase, he can talk to one of the character archetype and create a link between theme.

It will affect the cutscene and dialogue for the next round : The Arena Foundry

The player can talk to three archetype : The Defender, The Street Urchin and the Corporate

Dialogue Exemple : In this situation, the depending on what the protagonist say, he can win 5 affection points tower the Defender. Also the Defender can learn the protagonist name which will change some dialogue later.

At the end of the dialogue, depending on the Affection Score, the NPC will say a different line, confirming or not is friendliness or hate toward the player

Finaly, some character wil react depending on your actions during the show
