Intention :
Showing a pirate character who goes crazy because of the loneliness and what it creates as an impact on the environment of the island
Create a fun adventure quest inspired by games like Borderlands
An efficient environmental storytelling based more on « Show, don’t tell » We wanted the player to understand by himself what is happening on this island and what the antagonist really wants
Delay : 5 Days in a team of 3 peoples
Quest Design document :
I create the Quest Design document for the game based on Granblue fantasy visual with character inspired by Pugmire
I detailed the walkthrough of the level and what triggers the différents dialogues
I write the main NPC profil with his background and personality and I adapt it to the dialogue. I discuss with the Level Designer about how the NPC have affected the island where he live.
How do we see the progression of Sotek loneliness:
The signs in front of his house that show his distrust of foreigners
The trinkets that he collected like treasures
The way he talks to the hero, giving the impression that he is trying to push him away but at the same time seems to provoke him to stay
The personification of "his people".
The imaginary friend : a shellfish
