10-1 Multiply a Fraction by a Whole Number

Remember what multiplication means! 3 x 2 = 6 tells me that I have 3 groups with 2 whole things in each group. I can also think of it as repeated addition like this: 2 + 2 + 2 = 6.
You are going to use the same idea with fractions. 3 x 1/4 tells me that I have three groups with 1/4 in each group. 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 = 3/4, so, 3 x 1/4 = 3/4!
